Frank Fanning Scholarship Fund

Application period: September 25–November 19, 2026.

The members of the Arizona Employment Lawyers Association (AZELA) created the Frank Fanning Scholarship Fund to honor Frank’s memory by helping law students and recent law school graduates attend the AZELA Annual Conference at no cost. Depending on funding availability, recipients may also receive AZELA membership.

Who can apply

Law students and recent law school graduates are eligible to apply. Use the application below to tell us about your interest in representing employees in employment law matters and any related experience.

Remembering Frank Fanning

Francis G. “Frank” Fanning valued service to the legal profession and access to justice. In his May 2014 statement in Arizona Attorney, he described his desire to serve the profession and make legal services more affordable, including through technology and “leveling the playing field.” The scholarship honors his memory by supporting the next generation of lawyers.
